to Help Raise Funds for Our Cause!
The Magic of Giving is back! Join us in participating in Macy’s 11th annual “Shop For A Cause” charity shopping event, from Friday, August 26th through Sunday, August 28th. Macy’s has provided the Art and Design Alumni Association with savings passes to sell to our supporters for $5 each. Your donation gets you great savings at any Macy’s store – just in time for Back to School – while helping us raise funds for our cause!
By purchasing a savings pass from the Alumni Association, contributors support our mission of funding scholarships, student activities and the after-school Drama Club at the High School of Art and Design, while enjoying a day of spectacular discounts, entertainment and special events at Macy’s. Passholders will receive special discounts on most regular, sale and clearance purchases all day, and have the opportunity’ to win a $500 Macy’s gift card.
How to make a donation?
Purchase the amount of coupons by clicking “Buy Now” button below. Once your donation is process your online receipt will contain a link for your coupon download. Reminder: Download and print one coupon per every $5 donation. For example: $10 = 2 shopping passes, $15 = 3 shopping passes, $20 = 4 shopping passes, etc..

Annual Toy Drive such a success!

Thank you very much to the wonderful staff and alumni of Art and Design High School and SIA for making this year’s Annual Toy Drive such a success. We were honored to have Ms. Gail Allouf and last year’s recipient, Brielle Nix, present the Minna Gordon Debel Memorial Award to Gustavo Aravjo. The Minna Gordon Debel award is in honor of Gail Allouf’s fiercely supportive and inspiring mother. Special thanks to Sally Lee, Yvonne Fitzner, Joel Gomez, and Vilma Alvarez for heading this special event and to our alumni Judy Wong, Juan Rodriguez, Margarette Ramsey, Vilma Alvarez, and our sponsors for their kind donations. We would also like to thank Burger Heaven for providing us with the space to hold our event. Happy holidays to all and we wish all of our A&D students and alumni much continued success.
Annual Holiday Party and Toy Drive Event on December 17th. And although the weather outside may have been frightful, it didn’t deter our intrepid alumni from participating in the wonderful event. We had a great turnout with some great raffle prizes, donated by several alumni. Additionally, a sophomore student, Gustavo Aravjo, was selected to receive the Minna Gordon Debel Memorial Award. You did it!
Thanks to your donations, you helped us reach and exceed our goal. The Art and Design Alumni Association’s “Shop for a Cause” fundraiser, which ended on August 24, 2013, raised $2,205.00! This could not have been done without your help. Thank you to all alumni and friends who helped to make this fundraiser a success.
With so many school programs being reduced or eliminated as a result of budget cuts, your dollars will help us support the High School of Art and Design, its students and alumni by providing:
• Awards and scholarships for students to further their education
• Advice, counseling and information relating to their present studies or future careers
• Sponsorship of student art competitions and activities
• Mentoring programs
• Networking activities and events for alumni
