NYC Gallery Exhibit
ART SHOW: ’56 alumnus John Johnson, known to many for his work as a TV News Correspondent and Anchor, has also been a painter, sculptor and art teacher/professor — and author! His collection of artwork, “In The Spectrum,” will be on exhibit at the Walter Wickiser Gallery, from May 15th to June 14th, 2014. The opening reception on Thursday, May 15th is from 6 to 8pm. (The Walter Wickiser Gallery is located at 210 Eleventh Avenue, Suit 303, New York 10003.

Art and Design alumni Pharoahe Monch (Troy Donald Jamerson) was one of the guest on “Nerdland,” the Melissa Harris Perry news program. “Monch” discussed his soon to-be album release “PTSD” on April 15, 2014, as well one today’s hot topic, mental illness. Uh… Did You Catch That…?
On March 30, 2014, CBS news magazine “Sunday Morning” broadcast a story on a current exhibition at the Museum of New York City titled “City as Canvas” the Martin Wong Collection of street and graffiti art. Two of the three interviewees were Art and Design alumni Sandra Fabara (aka Lady Pink) and Chris Ellis (aka DAZE). To see this news story, click here.
